Jacob Farber is a seasoned attorney and strategic advisor with over three decades of experience at the intersection of law, technology, telecommunications, and financial innovation. Before joining Vantage Legal, Jacob co-founded Ouroboros LLP and later established Farber PLLC, a law firm and strategic consultancy focused on technology and fintech legal matters. Since 1994, Jacob has represented a diverse clientele—from early-stage startups to global institutions—on issues spanning technology, financial services, telecommunications, blockchain and cryptocurrency regulation, and M&A.

Jacob’s in-house experience includes serving as general counsel for three prominent blockchain and financial services companies: R3, a consortium of over 80 global banks exploring blockchain solutions; DLTx, a public blockchain infrastructure company; and Avaneer Health, a distributed healthcare data network founded by industry leaders including IBM, CVS, Cleveland Clinic, AETNA, and Sentara.

Jacob has also represented clients in a broad range of technology-driven matters, including complex technology and telecommunications transactions, commercial contracting, M&A, intellectual property and software licensing, strategic procurement, privacy and data security, traditional and emerging payment systems, ecommerce, and internet marketplaces. He is well-versed in U.S. and international financial services and privacy regulatory regimes, advising clients on the application of securities, commodities, and money service business laws to blockchain and other emerging technologies, as well as compliance with consumer credit and protection laws PCI, GDPR, HIPAA, and other privacy and data security standards.
